New incoming students, new staff, new faculty, new graduate students and visiting scholars.

Online photo submission is not currently available for returning students, contractors, online students, or replacement ID cards. Current photo on file will be used for all ID card reprints (including lost, stolen, damaged, readmission, retiree, etc.).

Submitted photos must meet several important requirements. Photos must be:

  • A current, color photo with a neutral-colored, smooth background and proper lighting.
  • A centered and front-view, full-face image with eyes open and visible (wear prescription glasses if you normally do so).
  • Cropped from just above the top of the head to the collarbone.

NOTE: Do not wear hats, sunglasses or other items that obscure the face. Photos must NOT contain excessive glare or shadow, other visible people, distracting objects or inappropriate expressions. All photos are subject to approval.

No. The application will automatically notify our office that a photo has been received. All communications regarding the status of your Purdue ID card will be sent to your Purdue email account. Check there to verify the status of your Purdue ID card.

All communications regarding the status of your Purdue ID card will be sent to your Purdue email account. Be sure to check to verify the status of your card. If accepted, you will receive a verification email. If you are a new student, going through STAR or BGR, you will receive your Purdue ID Card at your schedule check-in. All other incoming populations will need pick up your ID card from the Purdue ID Card office.

If your photo was not accepted, you will receive an email that includes the reason the photo could not be accepted. You can then submit a new photo that meets all requirements at the same online address. The new photo will upload over the current photo posted and our office will receive automatic notification that a new photo has been submitted. Once the new photo is reviewed, you will receive email communications verifying the status for that photo.

Only the cardholder can pick up their Purdue ID card. You will be required to show a government-issued photo ID when you pick it up.

Yes, You can have your photo taken in person in our office.

Sorry, but no Purdue ID cards can be mailed. You are required to show an official government-issued photo ID when you pick up your card.

After an uploaded photo is approved, the photo cannot be changed. For a replacement fee, students may request a new Purdue ID card and have their photo taken in our office.
