Business @ Purdue

The Business@Purdue site contains payroll related process documents, Quick Reference Cards (QRCs) and helpful links organized by task and/or central office department functions. Purdue staff can also subscribe to a twice weekly e-newsletter coordinated by Human Resources that communicates business process changes, system updates and training resources.

Orientation and Onboarding Resources for Supervisors

Several resources are available to support new employees and their supervisors. Through the Human Resource New@Purdue website, new employees can find an Orientation tool as well as an Onboarding Guide. A New@Purdue training module is also available in the SuccessFactors Learning Management system (see below). Supervisors can also find resources helpful to onboarding new employees on the same website.

SPS Training and Development

The Finance organization collaborates closely with Sponsored Program Services (SPS) and the Executive Vice President for Research and Partnerships to manage the financial aspects of externally funded research programs. SPS and Finance staff collaborate to provide account management and other financial support for Purdue researchers. Sponsored program training information targeted to business offices, campus researchers and sponsored program services staff can be found on the Training and Development section of their website.

SuccessFactors Learning Management System (LMS)

The primary learning platform for staff training at Purdue is the SuccessFactors Learning Module (accessed through the OnePurdue portal). Within the Learning module, Finance staff can find the Treasurer’s Matrix courses (users may need to click down arrow on the Learning home page). This collection of 50+ courses corresponds to the Treasurer’s Matrix.

Treasurer’s Training Matrix

The Finance organization utilizes a training matrix to assist employees and supervisors with matching the training needs of a specific position with available resources. Courses with an LMS course title can be accessed through the university’s learning management system (LMS).  New employees can use the matrix to find LMS based courses included in their training plan. An excel version of the Treasurer’s Matrix can be downloaded at the bottom of the page.
