Facility Use Guidelines
General Policies
• Bags and other personal items must be stored in a rental locker, day-use locker or cubby. RecWell is not responsible for any lost or stolen property.
• All participants assume risk when they voluntarily take part in informal or programmed recreational activities. Members and guests must abide by the decisions of RecWell Staff.
• All participants must present a valid Purdue University ID or RecWell Member ID to gain access to RecWell facilities/programs.
• Any violation of Purdue ID policies will be handled in accordance with university protocol.
• Water and sports drink are allowed in sealable, shatterproof containers; all other food and drinks are prohibited.
• Food is not permitted in any activity space without prior approval.
• Alcohol, tobacco products, illegal drugs, firearms and other weapons are strictly prohibited in all RecWell facilities and outdoor spaces.
• Swords, nun-chucks and similar martial arts weapons are prohibited.
• Use of the facilities under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited and may result in removal from the facilities.
• Pets, other than services animals, are not allowed in the facilities.
• Organized group activities must have prior approval from the RecWell Reservations Team. Activities will be subject to the discretion of the on-duty RecWell Staff Member.
• Use of the facilities for paid coaching or instructional purposes is prohibited.
• Bluetooth speakers are not permitted. Headphones must be worn when using personal electronic devices.
• All patrons must exit facilities by posted closing time.
Attire
• Tops, bottoms and footwear are required in public areas of indoor facilities. Please note exceptions listed in specific spaces within the facilities.
• Clean, appropriate athletic attire must cover the breast and buttocks. See-through garments are prohibited.
• Proper activity or general athletic footwear is required in all activity areas. All shoes should be free of mud and debris, with non-marking soles. Shoes must have a heel or heel strap and be close-toed. Socks and back-less shoes are prohibited.
Courts and Gymnasiums
TREC
• Reservations and RecWell Program offerings take priority over open recreation play/activities.
• Use will be on a first come, first-served basis and must respect the inclusion of additional drop-in participants.
• Metal baseball-type cleats and metal-tipped molded cleats are prohibited.
• At the completion of their use, individuals/groups are responsible for returning team benches to the condition in which they found them.
• All trash and personal items must be removed.
• Bags and other personal items must be stored in a rental or day-use locker, and will not be allowed on or around the edges of turf.
• Tackle football is not permitted on synthetic turf field.
• Individuals and/or groups are responsible for communicating removal of all sport specific equipment needs with RecWell staff.
• Food is not permitted on the field, this includes gum.
• Hitting or throwing balls into the net or curtain is not permitted unless it is part of the normal course of play (golf is not permitted).
• Participants are not permitted to be on the concrete along the perimeter of the turf.
• No hanging on the goals or nets.
NW Fields
• Clubs should only use the field during their permitted practice times. They are not allowed to access the keys and enter the field without a reservation and/or APF.
• Clubs will not have access to the fields during Football Home Game days due to parking restrictions.
• Clubs are responsible for locking all gates when the field is not in use.
• Field condition is dependent on club use. When possible, clubs should not use their game fields for practices. They are encouraged to use other spaces such as the unfenced area or grass outside of their normal lined field in order to maintain good conditions for competitions.
• In case of weather emergencies, shelter can be found at Schwartz Tennis Complex, as it is the closest building to Northwest Fields.
• All trash must be disposed of after each practice and event.
• Trash should not be stacked on top of trash cans. Try to bag up extra trash or store it somewhere that will not be blown away/attract animals.
• If there is an excess of trash, please let SP staff know as soon as possible.
• Equipment should be stored neatly in the barn, without blocking the path to the AED or any safety equipment.
• The code to the key box should not be shared with anyone outside of club membership.
• Maintenance and upkeep is the responsibility of club members. Bathrooms will be serviced regularly, but the cleanliness and conditions will be dependent on club use.
Aqua
• All persons shall take a cleansing shower before using the pool. A bather leaving the pool to use the toilet shall take another cleansing shower before returning to the pool.
• Anyone who has or has had diarrhea in the past two (2) weeks shall not use the pool.
• Anyone who has an area of exposed sub epidermal tissue, open blisters, cuts, etc. is advised not to use the pool.
• Band-Aids and bandages are prohibited in pools and spas.
• Glass, food, beverages, gum or tobacco products are prohibited.
• Spitting, spouting of water, blowing the nose and similar behavior in the pool is prohibited.
• Hyperventilation or the holding of one's breath underwater for an extended period of time is prohibited.
• No running or rough play is permitted in the pools or aquatic equipment.
• Clean, appropriate attire designed for swimming is required. Swimwear must cover the breast and buttocks. Street clothes and see through swimwear are prohibited.
• All diaper aged children shall use plastic pants with tight fitting elastic at the legs and waist or swim diapers.
• Do not change diapers at poolside.
• Lifeguards have the responsibility to enforce regulations and have the authority to remove anyone for unsafe or inappropriate behavior.
• Individuals 15 years of age and younger must be supervised by a parent/guardian/adult chaperone at all times, except when participating in a structured RecWell program/service.
• Children age 5 or under must be directly supervised by an adult/guardian (above age 18) in the water and within arm's reach at all times.
• Only U.S. Coast Guard approved flotation devices are allowed. All other flotation devices are prohibited. Only RecWell water toys are allowed.
