Research Account Dashboard & Research Account Projection Tool

Research Account Dashboard

Designed with faculty in mind, the dashboard provides a quick overview of account balance lists for faculty grants and faculty allocation accounts. Faculty logging into the system will be taken straight to their “dashboard.” Business Office staff will be able to access the dashboards by entering the faculty member’s alias (must be entered exactly) in the search window at the top of the home page.

The Research Account Dashboard (RAD) can be accessed through the link below.

Once in the dashboard view, users can flip through different views using the tabs at the top of the window. More detailed views of each account can be accessed in the Grant Details, Sponsored Program Details and Faculty Allocation Details using a ‘drop down’ style selection tool on each tab.

Research Account Projection Tool

The Account Information Management System toolset has been available to campus researchers and account management staff since it was implemented over 15 years ago.  As part of the larger PERA launch initiative, a cross functional group of stakeholders has been actively working on a variety of updates to this valuable tool and have rebranded it the Research Account Projection Tool.

Project Timeline

The project consists of three phases highlighted below. Project phases are described below.

  • Phase 1 was completed with the launch of the RAD (link above). The dashboard is a faculty focused view which provides grant data (both summary and account details), as well as faculty discretionary accounts.  Increased system speed, and an intuitive user interface were deliverables of Phase 1.
    • Completed in September 2024.
  • Phase 2 focused on an assessment of existing account projection tools (legacy AIMS) for business office (BO) and Sponsored Program Services (SPS) staff.  With the goal of eliminating long standing bottleneck issues, work involved implementation of minor system modifications that yielded high impacts on system performance.
    • Completed in March 2025
  • Phase 3 was launched in June of 2025 with a focus on projection tools and identifying the correct platform to use. The final tool will serve as the foundation of standardized projections, feature the ability to scale up to meet the needs of future growth and include training and quick reference guides to support users across campus.
    • Schedule: July 2025 – March 2026.
