eShipGlobal and Shipment Approvals
All domestic, international, and dangerous goods shipments related to university business must be requested through eShipGlobal.
Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) review and approval is required for shipments containing hazardous chemicals, biological materials, dry ice, and other dangerous goods.
Before You Ship
- Plan ahead. Shipment approvals may take up to four business days.
- International shipments require export control review and may need additional processing time.
- The Materials Management Distribution Center (MMDC) can print and apply shipping labels if needed.
- eShipGlobal may not be used for personal shipments.
How to Submit a Shipment Request
- Log in to eShipGlobal.
- Answer the required questions and select the appropriate package contents.
- If you receive a message indicating you do not have the required training, continue submitting the request. This simply means EHS review is required.
After Approval
- Watch for an approval email from EHS.
- Print the email and attach it to the package.
- Deliver the package to your building’s receiving area or directly to MMDC.
- For DOT-regulated materials, EHS will contact you to coordinate pickup.
Proper planning helps ensure shipments are processed safely, efficiently and in compliance with university and regulatory requirements.
