Industrial hygiene is the science and art of identifying, evaluating and controlling workplace hazards. It includes human exposure to chemical and physical agents as well as faulty or unsafe work practices.
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Industrial Hygiene section exists to ensure compliance with general industry and construction regulations. We provide support in recognizing, evaluating and controlling chemical and physical hazards in the work environment. EHS oversees Hazard Communication, Confined Space and Laboratory Safety Programs. We can also provide technical assistance in evaluating exit and fire safety requirements, heat stress, respiratory protection needs, laboratory safety, ventilation, hazardous materials exposure assessment and indoor air quality problems.
