eShipGlobal is the software used for all business-related domestic, international and hazardous materials shipments. International and hazardous materials shipments must go through the eShipGlobal process to ensure that all applicable shipping and export laws are followed, as well as all required labeling and paperwork is included and correct.
The use of eShipGlobal provides the university with a number of benefits, including cost savings, reduced administrative work and compliance with export control laws.
Any Purdue faculty or staff can access eShipGlobal using their Purdue login credentials and registering as a new user. Personal use of this platform is not permitted.
Program Benefits
Shipping Rates
While requesting a shipment through eShipGlobal, shipping rates and delivery times will be automatically calculated for various carriers. The user will be able to select the desired carrier based on their needs. This may result in cost savings for departments who previously shipped items through a single carrier.
Automation
The online shipping application replaces the previous PDF “Form 23 – International Shipping” and “Form 23 – Domestic Shipping.” It also replaces the “Hazardous Materials Shipping Request Form” for all hazardous materials shipments.
The information collected electronically will determine if any additional departments need to complete steps before the package is sent, such as Export Controls for the Office of Research or Environmental Health and Safety. One of these departments will create the shipping labels and any other labels needed, such as hazardous materials, on the shipper’s behalf.
Compliance
Compliance with export control and sanction laws for all international shipments will continue with this process. Additional information about requirements is included below.
Shipments
Campus faculty, staff and graduate students who have a business need to ship items domestically or internationally, including hazardous materials such as biologics (either domestic or internationally), should visit eShipGlobal using their Purdue login credentials to register as a new user. After providing their name, campus building address, phone number and email address during the registration process, users will be able to create shipments in eShipGlobal.
If you need a return label to ship something back to yourself, initiate the shipment in eShipGlobal. Add the vendor or collaborator as the shipper with your name and information listed as the recipient in the entry.
Departments will be charged if a proforma invoice is created and the shipment is not completed and deleted within 24 hours.
