Safe and Sound Week


Safety committee members and AO staff are invited to join Administrative Operations for Safe + Sound week at Purdue. During the week of September 21, we will be offering information, activities and prizes for workplace safety.

What is safe and sound?

Safe + Sound is OSHA’s nationwide event that highlights the success of workplace health and safety programs. During the week-long event, OSHA provides ideas, information and suggestions on how to keep workers safe. Each year focuses on a different safety topic. This year, Safe + Sound will offer resources for organizations on safety and health recognition.

Why participate?  

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about safety, spread awareness and engage in activities to promote safety awareness here at Purdue University. This is also an opportunity to share information to help manage hazards and risks all around campus and campus buildings.  

Who can participate?   

University safety committees and Administrative Operations staff are encouraged to participate. Please note that all activities are designed to be completed as a team.

All activity submissions are due by Sept. 25 at 5 p.m. Activity materials are linked below. Only one submission per team is required.

Daily Safety Trivia   

  • Participants will have the opportunity to complete Daily Safety Trivia questions containing OSHA, university and personal safety-related questions.  Daily questions can be submitted through the Qualtrics forms below.

Find a Hazard

  • Teams will read each scenario found in the Qualtrics forms, and identify what safety hazards exists. Daily questions can be submitted through the Qualtrics forms below.

Daily Safety Riddle

  • Put your safety knowledge to the test! Read each daily riddle, think about the safety concept it describes and see if you can uncover the answer. Submit your answers through the Qualtrics forms below.

Safety Bingo

  • Each participating team will work together to complete a variety of safety-related tasks and activities. Complete enough tasks to get a BINGO. Completed Bingo cards can be submitted to tourea@purdue.edu.
