Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Facility and Occupational Safety
Reduce Your Risk; Dress for the Occasion
PPE is essential to upholding personal safety at Purdue. Wearing correct PPE reduces your exposure to occupational hazards such as noise, falling objects, dust and hazardous chemicals.
PPE may include gloves, goggles, hearing protection, steel-toe boots and lab coats.
Know the risks: In your time at Purdue you may come in contact with potentially harmful chemicals and equipment. Understanding the risks and the necessary PPE is an important step in protecting yourself from injury.
Purdue provides PPE to employees to keep them safe from harm. Staff and students have the responsibility to use PPE as directed by the hazard assessments.
If you have any questions regarding the PPE you need and how to use it, ask your PI or supervisor!
