Staying Safe Around Campus Construction Zones

Purdue’s outdoor construction projects may include building renovations, utility repairs or sidewalk repaving. No matter the scope, safety is the top priority.

Here’s what you need to know:

• All construction zones are secured with 6? fencing or, in smaller cases, cones, tape and site coordinators.
• Warning signs and detours will direct pedestrians and vehicles around work zones safely.
• Never walk in the street to avoid a blocked sidewalk- always follow posted signs and cross at designated points.
• Do not enter fenced areas. These zones may be under the control of outside contractors, and unauthorized access is considered trespassing.
• Never move barriers or fencing for any reason.
