EHS: Eliminate Hazardous Situations
According to the National Safety Council (NSC), this week focuses on “identifying risks and taking proactive safety measures to reduce hazard exposure.”
If you are ever unsure on how to handle ANY safety situation, please contact your supervisor or EHS
Workers have the right to:
- Receive health and safety training at work in a language they understand
- Work on safe machines
- Receive all required safety equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Be protected against toxic chemicals
- Report workplace injuries or illnesses
- Review records of work-related injuries and illnesses
- Review the results of workplace SLAMs (Stop, Look, Assess, & Manage) to identify and fix hazards
- Speak up, which can reduce preventable injuries, illnesses and even fatalities
