Laser Safety Basics
Stay up-to-date on best practices with the EHS Laser Safety Guidelines.
Laser Eye-Wear and Alignment
- Most laser injuries occur during alignment, ensure you understand your laser alignment SOP and wear the appropriate eye-wear with the correct optical density for the power and wavelength.
Maintain Safety Training
- Ensure familiarity with engineering controls, administrative/procedural controls and the necessary personnel protective equipment.
- Register all class 3B and 4 lasers with EHS.
- Keep SOPs current for laser operations, including alignment.
Visit the EHS Training webpage for information on how to access the training through HSI.
