Crane Lift Awareness
Construction Safety, Abatement and Remidiation
What to Know When a Crane Lift Occurs
- Occasionally, during a construction project a crane is employed to remove and replace items. Cranes can present a set of hazards unique to their use.
- If a crane is used on an occupied building, the building needs to be evacuated to ensure no personal injuries if an accident occurs. Notifications will always be given to alert and prepare building occupants. Please heed the evacuation instructions.
- Due to the large size of the crane itself, there may be road or sidewalk restrictions. Pay attention to any signs or ground flaggers to avoid injury
- Never enter the area of a crane lift. Signs and warnings will be posted indicating the area of work.-Once complete, the crane will be demobilized, and the worksite cleared of hazards. Then the building and area will be opened for usual business.
