Disposal Guidelines
To help maintain a safe and clean workspace, individuals using 3D printers should follow proper disposal procedures for dispensing tips. These tips are small, pointed but flat items that can be safely thrown away in the standard trash once properly contained.
Before disposal, collect used dispensing tips in a small, sturdy container, such as a plastic jar or a cardboard or paperboard box. This helps prevent accidental punctures, spills or loose materials in trash bins.
When the container is ready to be discarded, make sure it is securely closed – tighten jar lids or tape boxes shut to ensure contents remain contained during handling. Once sealed, the entire container can be placed in the regular trash.
Following these simple steps helps protect custodial staff and keeps campus workspaces safe and organized.
