Cognos
IBM's web-based tool is a primary tool for accessing both student and financial data, and is commonly used at Purdue as an extraction and transformation platform.
Tableau
A desktop and web-based tool focused on developing striking visualizations and relating data tables. Purdue also has a dedicated Tableau Server to host and share dashboards with campus and the general public.
Scripting
Fully blown programming languages like SQL, Python, and R are often used at Purdue for all sorts of data manipulation, and often connect other tools and data sources.
