Bob Shriner
Senior Director of Development
As the Senior Director of Development for Student Life at Purdue University, Bob Shriner oversees a development team responsible for fundraising and donor relations for the divisions of Student Life and Teaching & Learning, as well as the Purdue Memorial Union and Purdue Libraries and School of Information Studies. In this role, he works to raise the gift dollars needed to support a broad range of innovative and impactful programs, capital projects and special initiatives taking place within the departments the Student Life Development Office serves. Private giving supports Purdue University in its mission to deliver higher education at the highest proven value and deliver excellence at scale to the campus and community. The generosity of Purdue’s alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends grants opportunities and transforms lives. Shriner enjoys working with the many incredible alumni and friends who offer their time, talent and treasure to positively impact Boilermaker students.
Shriner earned his Bachelor of Science in Management from Purdue. He also holds a Master of Science from the University of Louisville. While a student at Purdue, Shriner was a member of several ensembles within Bands & Orchestras, including the "All-American" Marching Band. He performed at the 2001 Rose Bowl and served as one of the marching band's drum majors during his senior year. Shriner has worked in University Development at Purdue since 2014, previously holding positions in both the School of Mechanical Engineering and in Student Life and Teaching & Learning. He has additional fundraising experience as a former member of the advancement staff at the Culver Academies.
Originally from Mishawaka, Indiana, Shriner currently resides in West Lafayette with his dog, Mackey, and has deep family ties to both Purdue and the Greater Lafayette community as a fourth-generation Boilermaker. He is an avid sports fan and follows his beloved Boilermakers and Chicago Cubs very closely. Shriner is excited to work with an excellent team of colleagues and is honored to be in a position to serve Purdue's students. He is motivated to provide Purdue's generous donors with an exceptional and impactful experience while helping to ensure current and future Boilermakers continue to benefit from a robust and rich college experience.
