Kevin Maurer
Director of Strategic Initiatives and Assessment
Kevin Maurer graduated from Missouri State University in 1992 with an honors degree in social policy analysis. His work as a resident advisor in college prepared him to work as a residence director at Quincy University in Illinois for three years.
Kevin came to Purdue in 1998 as a residence hall assistant manager. He progressed within University Residences as general manager, interim director of conferences, director of residential life, and director of strategic initiatives before his appointment to director of strategic initiatives and assessment for Housing and Food Services — and now for Student Life.
In his current position, Kevin looks at student success and what factors contribute to success at Purdue, helping to bridge the gap between the cocurricular and academic sides of the University. He also studies customer satisfaction and does data analysis for ongoing projects, both within Student Life and around campus.
During his time at Purdue, Kevin has attained a master's degree in higher education business and finance management.
Kevin enjoys his position as director of strategic initiatives and assessment because it offers a new challenge every day. He revels in thinking about big issues and ultimately developing solutions that are best for Student Life, Purdue students and the University. Additionally, Kevin enjoys the atmosphere. He says, "Working on a college campus and being around college students gives you a fresher viewpoint on life."
