Academic Advising

Academic advising practice in the College of Science is predicated on the belief that purposeful individualized attention promotes student success and increases student retention. College of Science advisors seek to encourage and inspire student engagement with their university, the global community, and the world of scientific discovery.

A College of Science degree is conferred when a student successfully completes all requirements in their degree program. Students will complete coursework or approved experiential learning activities to meet the following three degree components:

Minors and Certificates

College of Science Minors and Certificates

Minors and certificates in the College of Science give students the opportunity to broaden their academic experience and highlight specialized skills beyond their primary major. These programs allow students to deepen knowledge in a secondary area, explore interdisciplinary interests, or strengthen preparation for future careers.

Students complete coursework or approved experiential learning activities to meet the specific requirements of the chosen program, which may include:

  • A designated set of courses,

  • Prerequisites or supporting coursework,

  • And College of Science and university standards for completion.

Dean's List and Semester Honors for Undergraduate Students

The Dean’s List and Semester Honors recognizes students who have achieved high scholastic standing cumulatively and/or for the semester.

Students are listed in alphabetical order. Downloadable/printable certificates of your academic honors are available by selecting “View” in the Certificate column. A new page will open with your name and academic honors information. Students can also be searched by name, award, and semester.

This program is a comprehensive four-year experience designed to maximize student potential for recipients of the Emerging Leaders Scholarship (ELS) who are enrolled in a College of Science Program. We aim to train the next generation of expert from a broad pool of talent.
