SHOVEL - A quick note to confirm that all Purdue students (as well as staff and faculty) have free access again this semester to the Shovel app.  The company worked on creating a more streamlined process by which students can upload information from Brightspace into Shovel without having to individually enter each course task—this video offers more information on this new and important feature.  They listened to student feedback—as the initial process of entering tasks was the most common barrier to use.

Shovel is a real-time college planner app that Purdue is offering free to all students; it can help you to schedule your time effectively with less stress. Ever have the sinking feeling that you don't have enough time for an assignment? Or when three midterms in a week catch you completely off guard? With Shovel you can enter your course requirements, co-curricular commitments, and/or employment hours--and be able to balance your time so that you also schedule downtime and breaks.  Shovel is a tool that can assist you in creating structure to your days, and avoid the risk of sitting in front of your computer for long stretches of time. You can access your free Shovel account by following this link and using your purdue.edu email to sign-up.

Students can now make appointments for wellness coaching through Boiler Connect. (They can also become involved with campus out reach programs and sign up to volunteer).

Students can give parents, legal guardians, or other trusted parties access to view certain pieces of their student information online. This access is referred to as proxy access, and the person who is granted this authorization is called a myPurdue proxy. The student controls the entire process through their myPurdue Portal, and can add anyone with a valid email address as a proxy.  More information.

VMock, the smart resume review platform, is now available to all students. Anyone with an active purdue.edu email can now log in using their BoilerKey and do not need to wait for account approval and benchmark group assignment. Students will be able to select their own benchmarked group from a few broad categories, and then select their year. If a student changes majors, or would desire to change their benchmarked group, they can do so in their account settings up to three times. Access to VMock can be found at the link below. I have also included a link for UPkey which is designed to help students build a resume who don’t already have something put together.
