Internship Opportunities for College of Science Undergraduates

Undergraduates are encouraged to participate in internships as well as other types of experiential learning, such as research, study abroad, service learning, extracurricular leadership, and cooperative education, etc.

When am I eligible to begin an internship?

Some students begin an internship as early as the summer after their freshman year, but eligibility requirements vary and many require sophomore or junior status.

Do I receive credit or pay?

You may receive credit or pay, but the College of Science does not allow both.

How do I obtain an internship?

Students obtain internships in a variety of ways (both on-campus and around the country and globe) – through career fairson-campus interviewing and internship listings, professors and departments, the National Science FoundationDiscovery Park, for–profit companies, non–profit organizations, and personal contacts.
