The Purdue SMART Center

The Purdue College of Science's new Science and Mathematics Academic Resource and Tutoring (SMART) Center is a free drop-in help center at the Indianapolis location. Students enrolled in a number of CoS courses in Chemistry, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, and Statistics are encouraged to come to the SMART Center for assistance with their coursework. Graduate Teaching Assistants and trained Undergraduate tutors are available six days a week to support students with their studies; no appointments are necessary.

Purdue students are welcome in the SMART Center 52 hours a week. They check in at the kiosk and can identify tutors by the lanyards the tutors wear. The SMART Center is an excellent study space for individuals preparing for their classes, getting support from a tutor, or working on homework as a small group

Hours

The SMART Center is closed during the first week of class and has a condensed schedule during the second week of class. Our operations for the third week and beyond are:

Mon - Thurs: 10 AM - 8 PM
Fri: 10 AM - 5 PM
Sun: 12 PM - 5 PM

The SMART Center is closed on weekdays when Purdue classes are canceled (e.g., Labor Day, Fall Break, Thanksgiving Break)

Tutors are typically available for the five disciplines according to the schedule below. However, we may expand hours near test times or otherwise modify our schedule based on tutor availability. Details on tutor availability are available under the "Detailed Tutoring Schedule."

Note that students are always welcome any time during the SMART Center's operating hours even if there is not a tutor on staff for their discipline.
