College of Science All Aboard Purdue Registration Tasks
Completing the following tasks will prepare you for your All Aboard Purdue Registration academic advising appointment. Please note: an advisor assignment will not be made until all Purdue 101 tasks are completed. You may review the College of Science All Aboard Purdue presentation in Brightspace.
Complete Purdue 101
You will receive an email at your Purdue email account requesting that you complete Purdue 101. In your New Student tab, you will complete several tasks in preparation for the fall semester. Completing Purdue 101 and your Student Information Form (SIF) are your first steps in the registration process. Once Purdue 101 is complete, the College of Science advising office will be notified.Science Advising will reach out to you at your Purdue email to initiate the advising and registration process. Your prompt response to all requests for information in the SIF is crucial. Your advisor will use this information to prepare for your first advising appointment, ensuring that it is tailored to your needs. If, for any reason, your form is incomplete, you will be contacted to complete it. However, please be aware that this may delay your advisor assignment and subsequent appointment.
Once you've completed the necessary steps, you will be assigned an academic advisor. This advisor will play a crucial role in your academic journey at Purdue University. They will reach out to you within five business days of your assignment to introduce themselves and provide instructions on how to schedule your first advising appointment. If, for any reason, you do not hear from an advisor within this timeframe, please feel free to contact scienceadvising@purdue.edu.
Determine your math placement
Math placement plays a significant role in determining major coursework in your first semester. Your academic advisor use one of the following options to determine your first calculus course.
Calculus courses require completion of one of the following prerequisites:
-
SAT or ACT scores. Go to the Math Placement Information page to review minimum scores for Calculus I.
-
Calculus credit earned. Go to the Transfer Credit Guidelines page to learn how your transfer credit (transfer or dual credit; AP or IB scores) may post to your Purdue academic transcript.
-
ALEKS Placement Assessment: If you do not have SAT/ACT scores, have not submitted them, or do not have equivalent transfer credit, you must take the ALEKS Placement Assessment to take Calculus I. ALEKS assesses your algebra and trigonometry knowledge and provides test prep and learning modules to aid you in achieving the minimum score necessary to register for Calculus I. Minimum scores are listed on Math Placement Information page. Correct placement in a Calculus I course affects your success in calculus and your major courses, which depend on this knowledge. Take the ALEKS assessment seriously to help ensure a strong start at Purdue.
