Healthcare Concierge

I have worked for Anthem on the customer service team for five years before becoming the Concierge for Purdue. As a CSR I have been a resolutions expert and subject matter expert for my team, and I assisted with training and developing my team on a regular basis. I handled high- level member issues and escalations.

Duties as a Healthcare Concierge:

I can assist individuals with a variety of things, including:

  • Helping new employess understand the difference in coverage on the three Purdue medical plans as well as helping current employees during open enrollment
  • Claims and coverage questions
  • Finding Tier 1 HealthSync or in-nework providers
  • Contacting providers if there are claims or billing issues
  • Providing details on how the medical plans work, including deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums and tiered coverage
  • Helping set up preventive care services
  • Addressing care gaps if applicable
  • Prior authorization or appeals questions
  • Setting up members with clinical or nurse case managers for complex care needs
  • Creating an account and / or navigating the Anthem website and Sydney Health mobile app
  • Submitting out-of-network claims

Why do you like working at the CHL?
Having an opportunity to connect with members in person is important to me. I want to help members in whatever way is best for them, be it through email, phone calls or via in person meetings.

Availability:
I typically work 8 am. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, with onsite office hours at the CHL from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays and Fridays. However, I try and be as flexible as possible if a member needs to meet outside of those times.

Philosophy of Care:
My personal philosophy and goal is to take the anxiety out of healthcare. That includes educating members on how their plan best works for them and helping them get the most out of their benefits. I pride myself in start-to- finish service, helping members every step of the way.

What do you like to do when you’re not at the CHL?
In my free time I enjoy sewing, crochet, gardening and going to my son’s football games. I love crafting and working with my hands. I have two mini Australian Shepherds that keep me busy.

Fun fact about you:
I am a mother of six and grandmother of two. In my life before Anthem I was a store manager for a craft store. My favorite part of working retail was talking to and assisting members in person. As a Concierge for Purdue I now have the ability to help folks in person again, which is exciting for me!
