Andrew Feustel

Astronaut and geophysicist Andrew Feustel (S’89, MS S’91) is a veteran of three NASA spaceflights. In 2009, he participated in the final space shuttle mission to the Hubble Space Telescope (STS-125), performing three spacewalks totaling 20 hours and 58 minutes. In 2011, he was a mission specialist for the final shuttle flight, STS-134, delivering materials to the International Space Station (ISS). In 2018, Feustel served as a flight engineer for Expedition 55 and commanded Expedition 56, setting a record for the third most time spent on spacewalks (61 hours, 48 minutes). He also contributed to 250 science investigations on the ISS. Feustel received an honorary doctorate from Purdue during a live space station ceremony in 2018 and retired from NASA in July 2023.

Bruce Kidd (S’80) is president of Kidd Consulting Group, a strategic advisory firm that assists private business executives with human capital, marketing, sales, and growth challenges, as well as provides customer due diligence services for merger and acquisition transactions. He serves on several boards of directors and founded Indy Concerts for a Cause, which supports local nonprofits. With more than 30 years of experience, Kidd has held leadership roles at KSM Consulting, >Walker Information, Mesirow Financial, and Concord Partners. He also created Indiana’s first Angel Investor Network and led the 21st Century Fund, which invested $80 million in 63 high-tech startups across the state.

Before retiring, Gayle Johnston (S’76, MBA’78) served as the president of CuraScript Specialty Distribution, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Express Scripts that offers the benefits of Express Scripts’ sister company, Accredo®, a specialty pharmacy, while giving health care practitioners seamless access to essential therapies and customized business solutions. Prior to CuraScript, Johnston was the general manager for marketing and operations at Baxter Healthcare and the president of Thin Film Technology at Bausch & Lomb, Inc.
John Thornton

John Thornton (S’97) serves as the general manager for central services and technologies at Microsoft, where he leads a dynamic, diverse team focused on delivering essential solutions and services that enable gaming studios to create and launch top-tier games. His team collaborates with over 40 studios, working together to minimize risk, boost efficiency, and develop cutting-edge solutions for their growing first-party portfolio. Previously, Thornton was the head of games expansion at Mojang Studios, overseeing the growth of the Minecraft games portfolio, which includes titles like Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Legends.
Richard Wien

Richard Wien (S’67) earned a bachelor’s degree in chemistry before becoming a National Science Foundation graduate fellow at Stanford University, where he received a PhD in physical chemistry. He later managed business development and commercial systems research and development at Eastman Kodak, earning 25 patents and contributing to innovations like 3D web imaging and NASA’s first online shuttle flight images. Wien has founded three startups and worked internationally in New Zealand, Hungary, Belgium, and Germany.
David Chang
Personal/Professional Organizational Skills
David Chang (S’91), former medical director of the Polyclinic Sleep Medicine Center, specializes in sleep medicine, particularly diagnosing and managing sleep-disordered breathing. He holds a bachelor's degree in genetic biology from Purdue, earned his medical degree from Indiana University, and completed his internal medicine residency at Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, where he was chief medical resident. Chang also completed a fellowship in sleep medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. Now at the Polyclinic, Chang prioritizes patient education through active listening and meaningful discussions about health.
Michael Roscoe

Michael Roscoe (S’79) has 40 years of experience designing, implementing, and maintaining individual life and annuity insurance products, including various forms of variable, guarantee, current assumption, and index-linked products. He joined The Hartford in 1980 and retired from there as senior vice president of individual life product management, subsequently joining Symetra Financial as head of strategy and product innovation. Roscoe began his final role as head of strategy and product development at AXA Equitable Life, ultimately retiring in 2022. He is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and prides himself on innovation—he and his teams hold over a dozen patents. Roscoe currently resides in South Windsor, Connecticut with his wife of 40 years.
Bruce Schecter

Bruce Schecter (S’80) is an advisor, consultant, and investor in several tech startups, including Life360, BigML, Illumeo, SHIFTMobility, 3PointData, and Treasury Curve. A member of the Band of Angels, Silicon Valley’s oldest angel investor group, Schecter began his career at Intel in 1980, holding roles in process engineering, product management, corporate strategy, and online marketing. He was also on the founding team of Pandesic LLC. Schecter mentors student entrepreneurs at Stanford and Purdue and is active in nonprofits, including founding the Intel Alumni Network and co-founding Purdue SVBIG. He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from Purdue and a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford.
