Teacher Professional Development Programs

This year's Middle School Summer PD is over but you have access to all of the lessons and resources on our Purdue University HS/MS Learning Experiences page.

Middle School Summer PD:

Purdue University College of Science will be offering an online professional development (PD) for middle school science teachers (grades 6, 7, 8) in June 2022. We will provide live interactive sessions online, offering engaging hands-on activities and demonstrations, pedagogy and collaborative support. Each day will be dedicated to a different content area.

The daily sessions will include lessons and activities that address selected standards relative to the content area, and discussions of the implementation of these instructional materials into the science classroom. Certificates for Professional Growth Points will be provided based on participation. Those who are registered will be provided access to all of the instructional materials during each of the three days of the PD. RESERVE YOUR SPOT TODAY!

We have 25 openings (for each content area) for individuals who would like to receive classroom kits containing the essential supplies to do our lessons and activities in your own classrooms. In addition to the 25 paid registrations, we also offer the opportunity to register without cost, electing not to receive the teacher kit supplies. Teachers may register for one, two, or all three content areas:

  • Chemistry: June 28th
  • Earth Science: June 29th
  • Physics: June 30th

Paid registration (includes teacher kit)

Free registration (without teacher kit)

NOTE: The kits we provide will include supplies to do all of the activities that are part of our PD. Alternatively, you may attend this PD without receiving the supplies. If you would like to do the activities along with us, you will either need to sign up for the paid registration to receive the materials or plan to purchase the materials on your own.
