Huge thanks to Robin Tribbett, Hannah Beck, and Danielle Hewitt for representing the department at the Ag Alumni Fish Fry this past Saturday! The Diverse Corn Belt project was also represented at the Fish Fry and Emily Usher gave away a lot of swag!


Alumnus Dustin Potts, Purdue HLA ’09, visited campus this week to speak to the HORT 11000 Opportunities in Horticulture class.  Dustin shared insights from his experiences as a summer college intern through his current role as Plant Breeding Compliance Operations Manager, among other things, for Bayer U.S. – Crop Science (formerly Monsanto).


Several FFA Chapters visited the College of Agriculture and toured several departments while attending the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana. The HLA Department participated in the Rainbow Callout on September 6 at the Co-Rec.  The booth handed out carnations and other HLA swag to attendees. A special thank you to the Widhalm Lab, especially George Meyer, Thiti Suttiyut, and Mearaj Shaikh for preparing the flowers and being at the booth. Gloribel Rosales-Burdin and Robin Tribbett represented the HLA Department at the College of Agriculture’s BGR Carnival on Friday, August 19.  They gave away HLA freebies and answered any questions incoming freshmen have about the programs.


Grace Moore, a senior in Sustainable Food and Farming Systems, and Robin Tribbett, attended The Garden Club of Indiana, Inc. annual scholarship luncheon on Tuesday, April 26 in Columbus, Indiana. The Garden Club of Indiana, Inc. has been supporting students from Purdue and Ball State since 1958.
