Alumnus Dustin Potts, Purdue HLA ’09, visited campus this week to speak to the HORT 11000 Opportunities in Horticulture class.  Dustin shared insights from his experiences as a summer college intern through his current role as Plant Breeding Compliance Operations Manager, among other things, for Bayer U.S. – Crop Science (formerly Monsanto).

The Carmel Chinese Garden Co-envisioning workshop was successfully conducted on the previous Sunday in Carmel, Indiana. The public engagement process, led by Assistant Professor Yiwei Huang, thus far has garnered considerable support from the community. Jeanine Arana‘s presentation, “Black soldier fly composting reduced weed seed germination,” won first place in the 3MT competition at the 10th Annual Agricultural and Biological Engineering Graduate Industrial Research Symposium “Reshaping the Future through Science and Technology.” She competed against students from multiple departments within the Colleges of Agriculture and Engineering at Purdue.
