Jean Zavala (Torres Lab) participated in the 2024 USDA AMS/GSS Local Food Economics Data Visualization at the AAEA Annual Meeting in New Orleans, where his team placed 3rd. He was also selected as a finalist in the Graduate Student Extension Competition and presented his research at the meeting.

HLA Professor Lori Hoagland participated in a multidisciplinary workshop on Climate Change Policy and Research in Nicosia, Cyprus. The workshop was jointly hosted by The Arava Institute and The Cyprus Institute. The goal of the workshop was to build teams and develop new projects aimed at addressing food security and water availability.
