Scholarship Centralization

Purdue University has made the decision to centralize scholarship administration beginning with the 2027-28 academic year.

The primary goals of this initiative are to:

  • Reduce barriers for students by providing a single, centralized scholarship application experience
  • Strengthen strategic recruitment and enrollment efforts through a more coordinated scholarship process
  • Reduce risk management and optimize fiscal resources

The Division of Financial Aid (DFA) has developed a centralized scholarship application in Slate, a CRM platform. This application will provide students with a single place to apply for scholarships to ensure consideration for as many scholarship opportunities as possible. The application launched in mid-October of 2026 for the 2027-28 academic enrollment year.

Please reference the Division of Financial Aid (DFA) Purdue Scholarships page. This serves as Purdue’s official source for scholarship application information, instructions and timelines for students.

Scholarship Criteria and Unit Collaboration

To prepare for this transition, we have partnered with Finance and Purdue for Life to review all scholarship funds. Throughout this process, we have recognized the importance of collecting information such as student rosters for club and organization involvement, research activities, academic program concentrations, participation in unit-specific programs and recommendations required by endowment criteria.

To support these needs, we are building roster and recommendation workflows within Slate. We will ask each college or unit to designate a primary point of contact who will partner with us by providing rosters and recommendations when needed. This approach will help ensure scholarship criteria are met while maintaining strong collaboration between DFA and academic units throughout the awarding process.

Implementation Timeline

The project is currently being implemented in phases:

Phase 1 (2027-28)

All undergraduate scholarships will transition to DFA for awarding and administration.

Phase 2 (Planned for 2028-29)

The following areas are not in scope for 2027-28 but are expected to transition to DFA in 2028-29:

  • Awards and prizes
  • Athletics scholarships
  • Study abroad scholarships
  • Office of Summer and Winter Session scholarships
  • Most graduate scholarships

Scholarship centralization will affect a variety of university processes and stakeholders. The information below outlines key considerations, changes and responsibilities by functional area.
