Apply for Purdue Aid

Submitting a FAFSA automatically considers you for aid from Purdue and the federal and state government such as grants or Federal Work-Study. To be considered for additional Purdue scholarships, you need to take a few extra steps, such as completing a separate application.

How to apply: 

Incoming students: 

Please have a complete admissions application submitted by the November 1 Early Action Application deadline to be considered for Purdue’s merit scholarships.  

In addition to having a complete admissions application by the Early Action deadline, new students applying to the colleges below should also complete the Purdue Departmental Scholarship Application by February 15 to be considered for additional college and school scholarships.

  • College of Education
  • College of Health and Human Sciences 
  • College of Liberal Arts
  • Polytechnic Institute

This application is in ScholarshipUniverse. New students can access ScholarshipUniverse through the admissions application portal login

Scholarships awarded through the Purdue Departmental Scholarship Application are based on need and merit or a combination of the two. If you wish to be considered for those scholarships with a need component, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be completed by February 15. Please note that this date is different than Purdue’s Priority FAFSA date of April 15.

The different colleges/schools that use the Purdue Departmental Scholarship Application, located in ScholarshipUniverse, are listed below, along with their deadlines. We recommend that current students complete the 2024-2025 FAFSA by February 15. After that, students can head to purdue.scholarshipuniverse.com and enter their career account credentials to access the application. 

  • College of Education — March 1 
  • College of Health and Human Sciences — April 1 
  • College of Liberal Arts — April 1 
  • Polytechnic Institute* — March 1 
  • Polytechnic Institute Statewide* – June 1 

*Note that Polytechnic Institute and Polytechnic Institute Statewide are different. Be sure to select the correct college/school in the application.
