  • Students who are accepted into Professional Flight will need to commit to flying during the summer only.

Special Notes:

The fees for flight and simulator courses are in addition to the University tuition and fees. Students must complete each of the following courses with a grade of C- or higher.

  • CNIT 18000 or CNIT 17600 (must be taken at Purdue West Lafayette campus)
  • Composition Selective (ENGL 10600, ENGL 10800, ENGL 10100, or SCLA 10100) or Oral Communications Selective (COM 11400, SCLA 10200) or ENGL 11000.
  • MA 16010 or equivalent (MA 16100, MA 16500)

Other Requirements:

  • Students with a 3.25 cumulative GPA and a C- or higher in required courses will be accepted on a SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS after a holistic review.
  • Students with at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA will be considered on a remaining SPACE AVAILABLE BASIS after a holistic review.
  • Students must be in good academic standing (not on academic probation).
  • Students must complete an online tutorial and quiz prior to CODOing or seeing a CNIT advisor.

  • All CODO applications received throughout the year will be held for faculty review, which takes place annually on August 1st.
  • Members of the Game Development & Design faculty will arrange a mandatory meeting with each student during the month of September, which will contribute to the decision to accept or deny the CODO request.
  • A decision to accept or deny the student’s CODO request into the major will be made by October 1st. This decision will be based on the student’s academic standing, the information the student shares with the faculty during the mandatory meeting, and capacity in the major.
  • If a student’s CODO request is accepted, they will matriculate into the major and register for the Game Development & Design course sequence beginning the following January.
