Registrar Advisor Training
Designed primarily for incoming staff, this training covers the Banner Student System, myPurdue portal and Registration Workflow as they relate to academic advising. Faculty and staff can request training hub access by emailing registrar@purdue.edu.

myPurduePlan Training
This hands-on training is designed for new undergraduate academic advisors and degree clearance staff, as well as experienced advisors who need a refresher. Conducted in a computer lab setting, the course covers the myPurduePlan degree audit system, including how to apply department-approved exceptions to student worksheets. Attendees receive Exceptions tab access upon completion.
For the best learning experience, participants should have prior experience navigating myPurduePlan and a working knowledge of their colleges’ plans of study. New advisors are required to complete REG 101 and REG 201 before enrolling in myPurduePlan training. This foundational knowledge will help participants fully engage with the training content and apply what they learn.
Graduation Advising
Once a student has met with you and identified a graduation term, encourage them to apply to graduate by the published deadline. Review key dates and deadlines on the Commencement Timeline page and in the Destination Graduation channel in myPurdue.
You’ll find an Advisor Student Candidate List in your myPurdue Advisor tools, which is a list of your students who have applied for graduation, in alphabetical order by term.
