Smart Plan: Your Course Planning Tool

Smart Plan helps you map your path to graduation in one place. It works with myPurduePlan to give you an up‑to‑date account of your courses, transfer credit and expected graduation timeline. Plan semester-by-semester and see how changes may affect your progress. Degree plans in Smart Plan are tentative until reviewed and approved by your academic advisor.

myPurduePlan: Your Degree Progress Tool

myPurduePlan is a web-based tool that helps you track your academic progress toward finishing your degree. It combines Purdue’s degree requirements with the courses you’ve already completed into easy-to-read worksheets. These worksheets show which courses count toward your degree and which requirements you still need to complete.

Smart Plan

Smart Plan helps you map future semesters. You can plan courses by semester, adjust selectives and electives, explore how changes affect time to degree, and run What‑If plans to explore minors, certificates or major changes. It’s best for planning and discussing course sequencing with your advisor.

myPurduePlan

The myPurduePlan is Purdue’s official degree audit tool. It shows which requirements you’ve completed, what still remains, your grade point average (GPA), catalog term and major/minor details. Use it to verify progress, confirm remaining credits or courses, and ensure you’re on track for graduation clearance.

Change of Degree Requirements (CODO)

If you’re considering changing your major, you’ll need to submit a Change of Degree Objective (CODO) request. Start by meeting with your current academic advisor — they’ll help you review your options and begin the form submission. Once your CODO is processed, you’ll get an email explaining how to authorize the change.

To move into a new major, you also need to meet that major’s CODO criteria. These requirements are tied to your catalog term, which is usually the semester you started at Purdue. You can find your catalog term at the top of your myPurduePlan, just under the degree progress bar.
