About
The Gene Haas Manufacturing lab in the Bechtel Center is where you can come to get both metal working and wood working resources and capabilities. Metal Working and Wood Working is staffed by our highly skilled peer mentors who are here to help with the process of making your project idea become a reality. In metal working, you can fabricate the components you design in CAD and other software using state-of-the-art mills, lathes, presses, and saws. Wood Working is the place to go for cutting, drilling, planning, sawing, and sanding wood into your own work of art. The main goal of the center is to teach manufacturing techniques allowing individuals to gain knowledge, hands on experience and explore their creative side in a safe and fun space.
