The Electronics Lab is home to a wide variety of electrical manufacturing equipment, including soldering irons, desoldering stations, a PCB mill, a reflow oven, and every consumable necessary to build a circuit board from start to finish. Users will also find oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and multimeters to aid in testing and troubleshooting all common electrical components. We are more than happy to answer questions, and we hope to see you in the lab!

The Electronics Lab contains hot surfaces, hazardous materials, and flammable liquids. To create a safe and friendly environment for all involved, users must obey all safety precautions outlined below.

  • Compliance with PPE requirements: Users of the Electronics Lab are expected to wear closed-toed shoes and long pants with no holes. Clothes must be dry to reduce the risk of electric shock. Safety glasses are provided by the lab and required at all times.
  • Communication: When working with powerful electrical equipment, honest communication is critical. Always inform lab TAs of dangerous conditions and ask questions before starting an unfamiliar process. We are here to help you succeed!
  • Respect for the space: The Electronics Lab can safely open its doors to students because every student helps maintain it. To ensure that future students can enjoy the space, users are expected to clean their workspace and return tools and materials to their correct location before leaving the lab.
