Request a Consultation
The Office of Graduate Records recommends a formatting consultation appointment early in the semester. If after reviewing the templates, you require more formatting guidance, be sure to reach out to thesishelp@purdue.edu. In addition, we strongly recommend that you submit your completed deposit draft to us for formatting review no later than 2 weeks prior to the deposit deadline. Doing so will help to reduce or eliminate formatting issues prior to making your final deposit, thus ensuring a smoother deposit process.
Most of what we do can be done via email. We ask that you:
- Review the Formatting Guidelines and Deposit Procedures presentation located here: https://www.purdue.edu/academics/ogsps/research/thesis/index.html
- Be sure to start writing within one of the templates located here: https://www.purdue.edu/academics/ogsps/research/thesis/templates.html
- Reach out to us if you have any questions as you go along.
For a non-controlled thesis/dissertation draft formatting review, email your completed draft as a Microsoft Word document to thesishelp@purdue.edu. If you are using LaTeX/Overleaf to create your draft, you will need to email it to us as a PDF document. If the file is too large to send via email, you may share it via FileLocker with cmcoffey and will2922.
If you want an in-person appointment, simply email thesishelp@purdue.edu and we will work with you to schedule an appointment.
**If you are working with CONTROLLED DATA (EAR, ITAR, DFARS) you MUST have an in-person appointment.
Formatting consultations are cut off two weeks prior to the final Thesis/Dissertation Deposit Deadline due to increased staff workload.
