PIs Looking for Postdocs
Learn how to recruit, advertise, hire, and onboard your open postdoc position.
Recruiting
- Purdue participates in the Big 10 Academic Postdoc Hiring Fair every October and March. OGSPS pays the registration fee for anyone at Purdue who wants to sign up as a “postdoc recruiter.” This can be a PI, an admin or lab manager looking for strong candidates for a department or lab, or someone at the college level looking for general scholar talent. If you are interested in setting up a recruiter profile to meet potential candidates, please email us. You can also learn more by downloading our FAQ.
- Shortly before each hiring fair, we receive a searchable Excel workbook containing CVs of upcoming fair participants. Purdue faculty and administrators can request the latest CV Book with hundreds of PhD Candidates and postdocs looking for new trainee positions at any time by emailing us.
Advertising
- All postdoc positions are advertised on Purdue’s Careers site, but unlike other staff positions, they do not go through Talent Acquisition. Your department’s lead administrative assistant is the best person to contact to learn how to approve and advertise your position.
- Outside of Purdue, you can advertise your position for free on the Big Ten Postdoc Opportunities Board. This is a collaborative project between the postdoc offices at 18 institutions.
- The Postdoc Portal is an additional free job board not affiliated with any institution. It offers advanced graduate students and current postdocs searching for their next position, whether as a postdoc or faculty member, the chance to connect directly to fellowships and faculty, research groups and centers at universities and research labs across the country in STEM
