Dr. Oh's research program integrates microbial pathway engineering and multiplex CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing to advance three interconnected areas: Sustainable bioconversion of cellulosic and pectin-rich biomass into high-value products using engineered yeast. Precision improvement of yeast platform strains for next-generation fermented foods. Development of probiotic yeast as living therapeutics for human health.
