Integrative Neuroscience
Research Areas:
Our lab is interested in the molecular mechanisms necessary for development and maintenance of the nervous system. Our investigations use the mouse retina to identify the genetic and environmental factors required proper development and function of the visual nervous system.
Current Projects:
We use several mouse genetic approaches to address important questions in visual system development and function: 1) What are the genetic factors required to generate a diverse set of neuronal subtypes in the mouse retina? 2) What molecules instruct the correct morphology and neural circuit formation? 3) What environmental factors (i.e. age, light, toxins, etc.) lead to the disruption of retinal development and function causing visual disorders?
