Training Group:

Microbiology, Immunology, and Infectious disease

Research Summary:

My work is in evolutionary microbiology and focuses on the costs and benefits of phagocytosis in prokaryotes by studying the bacterium Uabimicrobium amorphum.

Why did you choose to attend PULSe:

I chose PULSe because my previous research background was in cancer biology, but I wanted to transition to microbiology for my PhD. PULSe gave me the perfect opportunity through its interdisciplinary rotations, which gave me the flexibility to explore various research areas and acquire new skills that I was able to apply in my permanent lab.

About Me: (Hobbies and Interests when not in lab):

When I'm not in the lab, you can find me hiking, rock climbing, and taking photos of everything and anything. I also love spending time with my two cats, Basil and Goose.
