Research Summary:
My research focuses on phosphatases and their critical roles in immunology, cancer biology, and various human diseases. Phosphatases regulate key signaling pathways by removing phosphate groups from proteins, impacting immune responses and tumor progression. I utilize molecular biology techniques to explore how specific phosphatases modulate cellular functions and contribute to disease mechanisms. Through protein interaction studies, and cellular assays, my work aims to identify therapeutic targets. By understanding the complex roles of phosphatases in health and disease, this research contributes to developing novel strategies for treatment, and prevention of immune-related and cancerous conditions.
Why did you choose to attend PULSe:
I chose the PULSe program at Purdue University because of its strong interdisciplinary approach and access to diverse departments like Health, Biological Sciences, Vet Medicine, Pharmacy, Biochemistry, and more. The opportunity to complete four lab rotations in a year allows me to explore various research areas before committing to a lab, ensuring the best fit for my interests. With over 300 faculty members, the program offers unmatched flexibility and collaboration opportunities. This environment supports my goal of conducting impactful research at the intersection of molecular biology, immunology, and disease, while encouraging growth across multiple scientific disciplines.
