Training Group:

Microbiology, Immunology and Infectious Diseases

Research Summary:

I am studying how T cells, NK cells, macrophages, and the gut microbiota shape mucosal immunity. My research focuses on intestinal inflammation and reproductive immunology, with particular interest in the immune–endocrine interactions that maintain uterine and ovarian health. I aim to better understand how dysregulation of these pathways contributes to inflammatory and reproductive disorders. I am trained in a wide range of techniques, including flow cytometry, primary cell culture, tissue processing, and molecular biology approaches to dissect complex immune responses.

Why did you choose to attend PULSe:

I chose Purdue University because the PULSe program offers an interdisciplinary approach to immunology and cancer biology, encouraging collaboration across departments. A key feature that drew me in is the first-year rotation system, which allows us to explore different research areas, collaborate with graduate students from diverse fields, and gain valuable experience before selecting a lab and project we are passionate about. PULSe also stands out for its strong student support, including the Graduate Student Organization’s mentoring program. Additionally, the program provides numerous seminars, panels, and workshops that broaden my career perspectives and help me grow as an academic professional.

About Me: (Hobbies and Interests when not in lab):

Outside of academia, I’m a passionate cat lover and enjoy spending time with my two cats, Lucy and Lena. I also have a creative side and love experimenting with artistic makeup.
