Application Steps

Step 1:
Explore graduate programs and admissions requirements.
Look for an academic program that offers the courses you’re interested in. Make sure the program aligns with your goals, even if you’re not pursuing a full degree. Contact the academic program to ask if they accept non-degree-seeking students. Confirm whether you’d be allowed to enroll in the specific classes you want. Ask about the application process for non-degree students. Each program may have different steps, deadlines, or eligibility criteria.

Step 2:
Create an Application Account to start your application.

Step 3:
Provide evidence of a bachelor’s degree.
This may be in the form of a transcript, a copy of a diploma, or a letter from your college/university verifying the degree. Review your current/previous academic institution’s country for a listing of required admission documents.

Step 4:
upload an Academic statement of purpose (if REQUIRED by the graduate program).
Be sure your academic statement of purpose is all-inclusive if applying to two graduate programs, and supports your suitability for all graduate programs listed on your application.

Step 5:
upload a Personal History Statement (if REQUIRED by the graduate program).

Step 6:
upload a Resume/CV (if REQUIRED by the graduate program).

Step 7:
INTERNATIONAL students: submit Evidence of English proficiency If required.

Step 8:
Enter Recommendation Provider names (if REQUIRED by the graduate program).
The number of recommendations required varies by program, so be sure to check the admissions requirements. If applying to a second graduate program, the program with the highest number of required recommendation letters will determine the minimum number of letters to be submitted.

Step 9:
Complete all acknowledgement questions and electronically sign your application.
Rationale for Consideration of Crime or Conduct Information Disclosed to Purdue During the Admission Process
Purdue University is committed to providing as safe of an environment for our students as possible. While many situations individuals are involved with may be resolved and accounted for, some behaviors are so egregious that the potential risk is too great to the Purdue community. Should Purdue learn of an applicant’s disciplinary or criminal offense, a review of the information could take place. A review committee for such information could include members of the Office of Admissions, Purdue University Police Department, Office of the Dean of Students, University Residences, Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars, and faculty. A disciplinary violation or conviction does not automatically result in the denial or rescindment of an individual’s application for admission.

Step 10:
Submit your application.
