Graduate Program Requirements Purdue Northwest
- Master of Social Work (MSW)
- This program accepts the Office of the Vice Provost for Graduate Students and Postdoctoral Scholars basic requirements as described on the English Proficiency Requirements page.
- A cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.0 (based on a 4.0 system) with a Baccalaureate degree from accredited colleges and universities attended;
- Completion of the following behavioral science coursework:
- at least one course in sociology or anthropology;
- at least one course in American history, American government or economics;
- at least one course in human biology, psychology, anatomy, or physiology;
- at least one course in statistics
- The advanced standing program is a shorter, more focused, plan of study (36 credit hours) for those who have obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work within the previous five years from a CSWE-accredited program, with a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above.

Note: criminal history does not automatically exclude an applicant from consideration for admission into the MSW program.
