Degree-Seeking Applicants

Thank you for your interest in graduate studies at Purdue University! Applying is simple and streamlined; you can apply to up to two different campuses or majors using a single application and fee. Whether you’re pursuing a doctoral, master’s, or educational specialist degree, the steps below will guide you through the application process and help you prepare the necessary documents to support your application.

Application Steps

Step 1:

Explore graduate programs and admissions requirements.

Explore graduate program degree offerings and the associated application deadlines and admissions requirements for your program of interest.

Step 2:

Create an Application Account to start your application.

Step 3:

Upload academic documents.

Upload transcripts and/or diplomas for every institution of higher education you attended. Review your current/previous academic institution’s country for a listing of required admission documents.

Step 4:

upload an Academic statement of purpose.

Be sure your academic statement of purpose is all-inclusive if applying to two graduate programs, and supports your suitability for all graduate programs listed on your application.

upload a Personal History Statement.

Step 6:

upload a Resume/CV.

Step 7:

prepare additional documentation.

Prepare any additional documents based on your desired graduate program, including documentation for a 2nd choice graduate program.

Step 8:

Submit Test results If Required.

Submit results of tests (if required) for your graduate program (examples include GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IETLS).   International students:  Review English proficiency requirements as you may be required to submit proof of English proficiency.

Step 9:

Enter Recommendation Provider names.

The number of recommendations required varies by program, so be sure to check the admissions requirements.  If applying to a second graduate program, the program with the highest number of required recommendation letters will determine the minimum number of letters to be submitted.

Step 10:

Complete all acknowledgement questions and electronically sign your application.

Step 11:

Submit your application and pay the non-refundable application fee.
