Testing Updates and Scheduling

Important Instructor Updates for Fall 2026

Purdue Testing Services (PTS) has several important process changes for Fall 2026. Please review the updates below when planning for accommodated exams.

Exam Return & IDP Processing

“Return to IDP for grading” is no longer available as an exam return method.

If your exams need to be processed by IDP, you will need to:

  • Pick up the completed exams from PTS.
    • West Lafayette: STEW G39
    • Indianapolis: Student Center (SC) 235
  • Deliver the exams to IDP for processing.

PTS will no longer deliver completed exams to IDP on behalf of instructors.

Scanned Exam Copies

If you select “Scanned copy returned to instructor portal” as your return method:

  • Download the digital exam copy within 48 business hours of receiving the email notification that your file is ready.
  • Review the scanned copy promptly. If a rescan is needed, contact PTS within the same 48-business-hour window.
  • If you need the original paper exams, they must be picked up within two weeks of receiving the digital copy:
    • West Lafayette: STEW G39
    • Indianapolis: SC 235

After the two-week pickup period, original paper exams will be confidentially shredded.

Student Scheduling Deadline: 7 Days

Students must now schedule their exam appointments with PTS at least seven days (one full week) in advance.

Example: If an exam is scheduled for Thursday at 12:00 p.m., the student must schedule their PTS appointment by 12:00 p.m. the Thursday before.

Student Communications

Purdue Testing Services (PTS) will post emails sent to all students with at least 1 testing accommodation here throughout the semester.
