Testing Updates and Scheduling
Yondr Pouches
Launching New Electronic Pouches – Effective 12/1
Beginning Monday, December 1, Purdue Testing Services (PTS) will transition to Yondr electronic pouches as our required method for securing all electronic items during testing. These lockable pouches enhance test security and streamline the check-in and check-out process.
What this means for you:
- You will continue to place your cell phone, smart watch, and earbuds (if you bring them) into a Yondr pouch at check-in.
- You will lock the pouch in front of a proctor before you enter the exam room.
- Once locked, the pouch cannot be opened inside the testing environment, and it must remain on top of your desk throughout the duration of your exam.
- At the end of your exam, you will unlock your pouch at the designated sensor located at the check-out desk.
If you need to access your device during check-in:
If you need to use your phone for any reason, you must bring your locked pouch out to the check-in desk. A proctor will assist you and ensure the pouch is unlocked and re-secured appropriately.
For online Brightspace exams requiring Duo Mobile:
If your exam requires Duo Mobile for login:
- You will receive your seat number at check-in and you will immediately go to that seat to login to Brightspace.
- At your seat, you may use your cell phone to login to Duo Mobile.
- After logging in, you must return to the check-in desk with your cell phone.
- A proctor will go through the remaining check-in procedures and provide you with your exam packet which contains the password for your exam.
For students with medical device accommodations:
If you have an approved accommodation that requires monitoring or interacting with a medical device through your phone, you will receive a non–signal-blocking pouch instead of the standard Yondr pouch.
- You will still lock your device inside the pouch before entering the exam room.
- We ask that the only notifications enabled during your exam are those required for the medical device and that all notifications are set to vibrate.
- If you feel your phone vibrate on your desk during the exam, bring the pouch to the proctor immediately. The proctor will promptly unlock the pouch so that you may attend to the alert.
To help you get familiar with the new process, here is a short video from Yondr that demonstrates how the pouches work: https://vimeo.com/1106260603?fl=pl&fe=sh
We appreciate your cooperation as we implement this new security measure to support a consistent testing experience. Please reach out with any questions.

Final Exam Scheduling 2nd Email - Fall 2025
If you do not take your accommodated exams with Purdue Testing Services (PTS) or you have already scheduled your final exam appointments, you can kindly disregard this email.
Hello,
This is a reminder from Purdue Testing Services (PTS) that the deadline to schedule your final exams with accommodations is Friday, December 5 at 11:55 PM (EST) — that’s 3 weeks from today.
Please don’t wait until the last minute to schedule. Getting it done now helps make sure you get the date/time that works best for you.
How to Schedule Your Exam
- Use RegisterBlast through Brightspace
Open each of your course pages in Brightspace and look for the RegisterBlast link.
- This is the only way to schedule exams with accommodations through PTS.
- Don’t see a final exam listed?
If there isn’t a final exam option in RegisterBlast for a class, email your instructor and let them know. They may still need to set up the exam with PTS.
Important Deadline Reminder
Students who miss the PTS scheduling deadline (December 5 at 11:55 PM EST) will be redirected to the Disability Resource Center (DRC) and their instructor of record to discuss what alternative options (if any) exist, because PTS cannot accept any exam appointment requests after the deadline.
Need Help?
If you run into any issues while scheduling, please email us at testingservices@purdue.edu and include a screenshot of your RegisterBlast screen so we can help you more quickly.
