Faculty and Staff Flu Shots

All benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan are eligible to receive the free flu vaccine. Regardless of location, individuals coming for a flu shot should bring their Purdue University ID (PUID) card or their Anthem medical plan ID card. 

Vaccines are available as follows:

The Center for Healthy Living (CHL) 

1400 W. State St., Building B, Suite C

The CHL is providing flu shots to Purdue faculty, staff, covered adult dependents and minors as follows:

Drive-through flu shots

The CHL will offer drive-through flu shots in the parking lot of the center Wednesdays and Thursdays through September.

  • Wednesdays from 7 to 9 a.m.
    • September 8
    • September 15
    • September 22
    • September 29
  • Thursdays from 4 to 6 p.m.
    • September 9
    • September 16
    • September 23
    • September 30

In October, the CHL will offer drive-thru flu shots on the following dates and times:

  • October 5 –  (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.)
  • October 8 – (7-9 a.m. morning only)
  • October 11 – (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.)
  • October 18 – (7- a.m. and 4-6 p.m.)
  • October 20 – (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.)
  • October 21 – (7-9 a.m. and 4-6 p.m.)
  • October 22 – (7- 9 a.m. morning only)

Walk-in flu shots
Beginning October 1, the CHL also will offer flu vaccines at the center to benefits-eligible employees and dependents covered on a Purdue health plan on a walk-in basis. Patients can simply stop by to receive their flu shots; appointments are not required.

Pediatric patients 6 months and older can also receive their flu shots at the CHL beginning October 1.

In addition, the CHL has on-campus flu shot events planned as follows:

CHL vaccine information

The CHL will be administering the Fluzone Quadrivalent vaccine which is designed to protect against four different flu viruses; two influenza A viruses and two influenza B viruses and is approved for anyone ages 6 months and older. Additonally, the Flucelvax Quadrivalent Pre-filled Syringe - preservative-free, egg-free, latex-free product – will be available.

If an alternative vaccine type is needed, employees are encouraged to see their providers.

Purdue University Pharmacy (PUP)

PUP is offering flu vaccines to Purdue faculty, staff and students:

Walk-in flu shots
Flu shots are available now at PUP. Walk-ins are welcome between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Campus Flu Shot Events

Sign up for an appointment at Please be sure to also upload your medical insurance card(s) before your appointment.

PUP will be offering flu vaccines from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the CoRec Feature Gym (near the entrance right off Martin Jischke Drive) on the following days and times:

  • October 27
  • October 28
  • November 2
  • November 3
  • November 4

PUP vaccine information
PUP is using a Flucelvax Quadrivalent Pre-filled Syringe. It is a preservative-free, egg-free, latex-free product.

Additional flu shot options
If employees are unable to make it to the CHL, PUP or a flu shot event on campus, there are other options:

  • Retail pharmacies:
    Check with your retail pharmacy for flu shot availability. All Purdue medical plans cover the seasonal flu vaccine for employees and covered dependents.
  • Health care provider:
    In most cases, primary care providers can administer flu shots. All Purdue medical plans cover the seasonal flu vaccine for employees and covered dependents.
