John Orick, Karen Mitchell, and Pam Fisher prepared the Plant Info To Go Booth for the Indiana Flower and Patio Show on March 9. Purdue Extension Master Gardener volunteers will be on hand to answer gardening questions during the show. The show will run March 12-20 at Expo Hall in the Indiana State Fairgrounds.

Southwest Indiana Melon and Vegetable Growers’ Annual Meeting will be held in French Lick Resort & Casino on March 11, 2022. This meeting is in conjunction with Illiana Watermelon Association Annual Convention. Wenjing Guan, Steve Meyers and Jeanine Arana Cordonero from HLA will give presentations at the meeting.
Ariana Torres attended the S1087 multi-state meeting in Miami, FL. The multistate group titled Sustainable Practices, Economic Contributions, Consumer Behavior, and Labor Management in the U.S. Environmental Horticulture Industry met to discuss project’s outcomes and new data collection efforts. We also visited ornamental growers in Florida adopting automated machinery and growing specialty ornamentals.
