Distinguished Professorships
Purdue University recognizes members of the faculty whose academic contributions are among the nation’s finest. Distinguished professors are outstandingly original, creative and productive faculty members whose achievements in discovery and learning have been internationally recognized or who have made a unique contribution to the University through discovery, learning or engagement.Distinguished professors receive this recognition following a detailed peer review process. The purpose of these appointments is to enrich the intellectual environment by retaining and attracting truly exceptional individuals on the faculty. Many of these professorships are named after Purdue benefactors or other outstanding individuals.
